I have prepared many students for both of these exams though most of my experience and knowledge is with IELTS. Ideally we should have seven or eight lessons devoted to preparing for the exam so that you can get the best possible score for your current level of english. Preparation is a must, however reading, listening and even writing can be done without the need for a tutor. Speaking is really the only part you need the guidance of a tutor for to help you formulate effective answers and to show you where your weaknesses are so you can take action to repair them before the exam. 2: Students wishing to improve their overall spoken English. You are looking to get a better band score for your IELTS, you need to be more confident in the office when expressing your opinion or understanding those around you or You are looking to sound more natively British. First I Directly address the issue of pronunciation and using a method called the Callan Method. I am not only able to correct grammatical and pronunciation errors but build up your ability to speak English better in a quarter of the time it would take with traditional methods. For students who are a little more advance there is the option to have general conversation or specific conversation with me where I can suggest some more idiomatic expressions and aid in general collocation. If desired I am happy to directly teach British pronunciation starting with the foundation of intonation. However you must already have clear pronunciation before we can start of this journey together. 3: Students preparing for an interview. This is a subject I have dealt with on a number of occasions and, of course, It can be a stressful time speaking in another language at an interview. We will work with some common and specific questions that you may be asked during an interview and I will give precise and clear feedback on the differences between how you have answered and a typical model answer. I am a very strong advocate of teaching clear pronunciation as I believe it is the foundation of good communication in any language! Whilst I am strict with pronunciation my lessons are lighthearted and easy going. I am also aware that it is often the case that most students are forced to learn English as it is the business language of the world. I can only do my best to try and understand how stressful this must be and this is the reason that I believe lessons should be both rewarding and entertaining at the same time.
