Hi, I'm Irv. Did you pronounce my name correctly? The pronunciation of "IR" is just like the "ir" in the word "first"! You all know how to say "first" but have no idea about how to say Irv. Don't you think this is kind of funny?
For such a long time, except how to pronounce my name, the most FAQ I've got is how to learn English well. First, we need to define what is "well". The answer could differ from people. Some need to learn the language to pass exams like TOEIC, IELTS, or TOEFL, while some just need to be able to communicate with people during a trip. So, before the journey starts, we need to figure out what the goal is, and then we know how to achieve the goal. By the way, if you don't know what is your goal, just come talk to me.
In my class, students can have a customized course and the following categories:
※Basic Grammar: If you think your grammar is a mess, I will help you rebuild the whole system from scratch.
※Basic Reading: There will be materials from basic level to intermediate level to make students be familiar with reading.
※Advanced Reading: News articles would be used as the main material( can adjust by students), there will be display of detailed grammar structures. Suitable for advanced learners, e.g. TOEIC score 850 above.
※Speaking course: Using various kinds of themes to practice oral skills, such as weather, food, travel or festivals. Pronunciation adjustment is available at the same time.
※Integrated Writing: Either beginning or advanced learners is accepted. But be careful, writing is a process that face yourself directly, because I will point out every grammar and spelling mistakes, and that is not easy. You can just have a very general idea in reading, or being vague in speaking, but for writing, there is no way to run! So, just think twice before you make the step!
※Advanced Vocabulary: In this course, we will have a further review of vocabulary in a detail way, which includes learning from collocations, suffix and word roots. For example, what is the difference between interest and hobby? The answer is a hobby usually refers to something people would do for pleasure after work, while interest is something would draw people's attention.
※If none of the above is what you need, let's have a talk!
